This charming residence is located in the core of the historical centre of Palermo, just in front of the Cathedral, in a building bearing witness to the continuous presence of significant civilization in this oldest part of the town, called "paleapolis": punic remains in the underground, huge stone ashlars in the medieval walls of the ground floor, up to the second and third floor, with stuccoes and frescoes dating since XVI-XVII centuries.
The most important monuments of the town are at walking distance. Monreale can be reached by an urban bus starting from the Cathedral. The bus station to move to the other sites of interest in Sicily is 15 min walking from the B&B.
Via Pietro Novelli is one of the safest places in the town, as it is the back street of the Central Police Station.
The rooms, showing evidence of the original XVII century frescoes on the walls, were restored during 2004 and equipped with heating system, air conditioning, TV and mini-fridge. Each room has a private bathroom with shower, hydro-massage and hair dryer. The guests have the exclusive use of a living room, with many books available both on monuments of Palermo and on Sicily in general. What makes this B&B a special place indeed is the presence of five terraces at different levels on the roofs of the apartment, the uppermost offering a 360° view of the old town. During the sunny season breakfast is served in one of the terraces.
The B&B is on the third floor, but a lift will be available only starting from January 2006. Presently a manservant takes care of carrying up the luggage.
