Baita del Faggio hotel Restaurant (2nd cathegory, 3 stars) lays on the “A” zone of Park of Madonie (www.parcodellemadonie.it) with a view to the Tyrrhenian Sea, far only 5 km as the crow flies and 35 km from Cefalù, between the highest mountains in Sicily: mount Carbonara (1979 mts.) and Mount Cervi (1974 mts.), and it is placed within a valley rich with woods of beeches, pines, fir-trees, elders, facing a fresh and famous source, 3 kms far from the ski-lifts of Piano Battaglia, (www.pianobattaglia.it ) or (800003388) free number of Provincia, to notice on, skilift and snow, street.
In 1970 it used to be a restaurant, bar, room party; in 1983 was turned into a comfortable Hotel with 23 wide rooms, each of them having private toilets, telephone sets and Tv, small terraces, and moreover reading and tv room (hall), fireplaces in the restaurant, hall with fireplace, music room, solarium- showers-little swimming pool (Summer), ping pong, billiards, balilla soccer, bow-shot, trekking, mountain bike, bowls, video games, small playground and the possibility of horse rides in the area (Spring-Summer-Autumn), payment with credit card or bancomat, internal - parking not keeped; moreover, with a fee-paying, a service of swimming pool (Summer), tennis, soccer, basket, volleyball, is provided.
The cooking is the typical Sicilian one according to the tradition of Madonie areas, traditional mountain style but not without innovations, personally run by the owner Piero Mogavero and by the chef Nino Vacca, both purely from Madonie.
The hotel also organises little guided excursions for small groups of tourists, both around the nature and the close villages, rich with history, folklore, traditions.
